A few days after returning from the chopper trip I was contacted by my buddy Jim Varshay.
He informed me he was driving a car in a two car team and the other car was not yet complete, needed a co driver. Naturally I accepted the offer.
You can read all about the car build here

This new car is quite a car too! I really enjoyed the ride. The transmission let go about mile 164 so we were done. That's racing!
The driver Kevin Ellis had 2 cars entered and as his second car approached us broke in the desert, Kevin and I relieved the two in that car and pressed on to Borego.
That car ended up winning the race!
keeping her steady
Jim bringing her over the finish
Well earned cerveza after a long night of racing.

Stepping a little out of the norm
A lot has been going on the past few months. Bildozer and I were hired to guide a group of pro skaters on choppers to El Pescadero. About 30 miles north of Cabo San Lucas. There is a skatepark that the guys wanted to visit. This is a little odd for us due to so much pavement running! We could not resist the offer. I am glad we went!
This was being filmed for a documentary movie on vbs.tv
The show will air in January 2010. Harley Davidson provided these guys with brand new bikes and I drove the Super Duty with the box trailer with the producers and camera crew. We covered the entire peninsula down and back in 11 days, making stops in all the best places to take in the sights. We gave these guys a tour they will not soon forget.
Enjoy these photos. All shot with my iPhone.
Quatro Casas was our first stop.
I saw a great idea for our camp. This style bar will be built at the Proving Grounds.
The crew heading out
Campfire fun
No trip through El Rosario would be complete without a stop at Mama's for lobster burritos!
Choppers and skateboards, who would have thought...
The recent hurricane really made things green
Day of the dead celebration in San Ignacio
Church in San Ignacio
Sea of Cortez
Rest stop
We came up on two guys butchering a cow on the side of the road near Guerro Negro that had been hit by a car. I got them to pose. I will spare you all the other photos!
We spent some time in Loretto. Man I didn't want to get up and leave here!
When we reached La Paz the guys were very stoked. We had a hotel right on the water.
Complete with a rooftop bar!
La Paz sunsets are epic
When we reached El Pescadero we found the skatepark. The recent hurricane had left it's mark!
A little water did not stop Arto from shreding the gnar
After 2 days in El Pescadero we headed North. This is the point of a trip like this that is bittersweet. We made our destination, we are only halfway into our trip, but the coming leg of our journey is North, and we will soon be headed back to reality.
Classic Baja scenes
We put 3247 miles on this beast
Bildozer treating us to his version of "The smokey bake show"
We also met a guy named Justin.
Please visit his blog you will not believe the testicular fortitude of this guy.

Riding with the legend
Video shot this weekend by Bill Bryant riding with Ron
Pre Running Camp4Lo Baja Experience with Ron Brant from Biltwell Inc. on Vimeo.
Checking the routes
We pre ran the route to Erinderia this weekend. Billdozer and myself invited Baja legend Ron Brant to come down and see what all the fuss was about. He brought his prerunner in tow. That sure made the pre run a blast. We covered the 65 mile round trip in just under three hours including quite a few stops to take in the fantastic scenery and enjoy a cold drink or two.
Normally in our 4 wheel drives this trip takes about twice as long.
LIKE THIS RIDE!
We had to stop a few miles into the run to check this view. Breathtaking.
We proceeded down to get a closer view. We found this interesting relic looks like it had been built many years ago.
But as with most things by the sea Mother ocean has a way of taking it back.
Around the bend was a nice secluded beach, great for a lunch break.
The Moon or Baja?
After exploring for a while we headed back up to the trail and made it to Erinderia and the infamous rock beach trail.
Rush hour in baja!
After a cold drink we strapped in and headed back to the Proving grounds for a great evening of steak tacos, camp fire, and some great stories of the days activites.
