Baja 1000

A few days after returning from the chopper trip I was contacted by my buddy Jim Varshay.
He informed me he was driving a car in a two car team and the other car was not yet complete, needed a co driver. Naturally I accepted the offer.

You can read all about the car build here

This new car is quite a car too! I really enjoyed the ride. The transmission let go about mile 164 so we were done. That's racing!
The driver Kevin Ellis had 2 cars entered and as his second car approached us broke in the desert, Kevin and I relieved the two in that car and pressed on to Borego.
That car ended up winning the race!

Stepping a little out of the norm

A lot has been going on the past few months. Bildozer and I were hired to guide a group of pro skaters on choppers to El Pescadero. About 30 miles north of Cabo San Lucas. There is a skatepark that the guys wanted to visit. This is a little odd for us due to so much pavement running! We could not resist the offer. I am glad we went!

This was being filmed for a documentary movie on vbs.tv

The show will air in January 2010. Harley Davidson provided these guys with brand new bikes and I drove the Super Duty with the box trailer with the producers and camera crew. We covered the entire peninsula down and back in 11 days, making stops in all the best places to take in the sights. We gave these guys a tour they will not soon forget.
Enjoy these photos. All shot with my iPhone.

Quatro Casas was our first stop.

I saw a great idea for our camp. This style bar will be built at the Proving Grounds.

No trip through El Rosario would be complete without a stop at Mama's for lobster burritos!

We came up on two guys butchering a cow on the side of the road near Guerro Negro that had been hit by a car. I got them to pose. I will spare you all the other photos!

We spent some time in Loretto. Man I didn't want to get up and leave here!

When we reached La Paz the guys were very stoked. We had a hotel right on the water.

Complete with a rooftop bar!

When we reached
El Pescadero we found the skatepark. The recent hurricane had left it's mark!

After 2 days in
El Pescadero we headed North. This is the point of a trip like this that is bittersweet. We made our destination, we are only halfway into our trip, but the coming leg of our journey is North, and we will soon be headed back to reality.
