Took a trip to Baja last week for a little R & R. We went to Mulege to visit Baja legend Ron Brant to see his retirement villa. We headed South on Mex 1 straight down. Spent the first night in San Ignaco at the famous Rice and Beans. Bright and early the next morning we saddled up and made the next leg a few hours South into Mulege.
After two great days hanging out with Ron and his new friends we packed up and motored North but decided to hit the dirt at Chapala into Gonzaga with a stop at Cocos Corners of course. We wanted to check out the new pavement to Puertecitos. They have been working on this road and are almost done. It is kind of bittersweet. Nice that it's paved but, sad that a big section of the Baja 1000 is now paved. We stayed our last night in San Felipe at Pete's Camp visiting old friends. We then checked out the toll road from Mexicali to Tecate. Great 6 day Baja adventure. Enjoy some photos of the beautiful Baja....
Had to stop at Mama Espinozas for Lobster burritos!
Visited the church at San Ignacio built in 1720
One of my favorite Baja towns. The Baja 1000 runs right past this church.
Enjoying an ice cold Pacifico at Casa Brant
These are the waters Ron goes fishing in every day. (jealous)
We spent a few hours swimming in the healing waters of the Sea of Cortez at Santispac
Cocos Corners

Nice new pavement over the now defunct 'three sisters"
